Porvoo is the second oldest town in Finland, dating back to the 14th century. Porvoo’s main attraction is its old town or “vanha Porvoo” as locals say. Old Porvoo is very picturesque; its cobbed streets and colorful wooden houses make it worth the trip from Helsinki (about 50km to the East). Vanha Porvoo is also famous for its red storehouses on the Borgå river bank. The rest of Porvoo is, I must say, rather uninspiring and forgettable.
